The guitars, bass, and vocals are performed and recorded onto PC, while the drums and other non-guitar instruments (such as orchestral) are created through software.
Misery Remains is Matt Arndt. Matt has played guitar in hardcore/punk, thrash, death metal, and melodic death metal bands, in that order, over the past 12 years. Simplex 12(1989) was a short-lived, hardcore/punk band playing originals and covers from The Misfits, Suicidal Tendencies, Murphy's Law, and Rush. Bewilder(1991-1993) was a thrash band playing originals and covers from pre-90's-Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Suicidal Tendencies, Sepultura, Pantera, and Iron Maiden. Remains(1994-1998) was a powerful, three-piece, thrash/death/groove brutal metal band playing primarily originals with a cover or two from Cannibal Corpse. Divine Misery(formed 1995, but joined in 1999 and disbanded 1999) was a melodic death metal band playing originals only. Misery Remains(2000-present) is Matt Arndt's current project.
Visit the Misery Remains home page for more songs, including covers of Overkill, Slayer, and Cannibal Corpse, along with new versions of songs by my previous bands.
------------------------------------------------------ Alex from THE METAL OBSERVER webzine says:
"A 9-song-demo released by a one man band!! Unbelievable, I must say!! Matt Arndt is the name of the assault behind the brutality and technical work on this demo. From the minute I placed it in my CD-player all the way until the end, this demo kept me completely occupied. The vocals are standard Death-growls, but it goes well with the music! The guitar work is technical and brutally heavy at times with some melodies thrown in at the right spots!! Now this release has songs ranging from four to nine and a half minutes long! So there is definitely enough material here to gobble up. When I listen to MISERY REMAINS, Chuck Schuldiner comes to mind, because of the technical guitars and the way the songs are structured. I have to say that this demo is better than 60% of the bands that I review!!! So Matt Arndt I give credit where credit is due, this is one hell of a fucking effort and I hope to see you get MISERY REMAINS on the go for future releases!!" ------------------------------------------------------
